Who runs this

Flaystakes is an independent project run by Bill Burkey. It is not affiliated with Bobby Flay, the Food Network, Discovery+, or any production company. Contact: flaystakes@gmail.com.

What's in the database

197 defeats across 545 episodes. Bobby's all-time record: 329–197 (61.8% win rate). Every Round 1 challenger pair, every Round 2 outcome, every Round 2 dish, the cuisine, the chef's restaurants, and a plausible-recreation recipe.

Coverage runs from Season 1, Episode 1 (Sarah Grueneberg's chicken parm, 2013) through the most recent airing. Last updated 2026-06-17.

Where the data comes from

Each defeat record is assembled from public sources:

• The episode itself as aired on Food Network or Discovery+.
• Wikipedia's episode list for canonical air dates, episode titles, and Round 2 outcomes.
• Episode databases (TMDB, IMDb, Episode Hive) for Round 1 challenger pairs and Round 1 winners.
• Local-news coverage of the winning chef (their hometown paper usually does a post-air feature).
• The chef's own restaurant and Instagram pages for where you can eat their food.

Recipes are plausible recreations of the winning dish, not the chef's original. Where the chef has published the recipe themselves we link to it.

How to use the data

The full dataset is available as JSON at /api/data under the Creative Commons BY 4.0 license. Attribution to flaystakes.com is appreciated.

Reporting a correction

If you spot an error — wrong dish, wrong Round 1 chef, mislabeled cuisine, defunct restaurant — email flaystakes@gmail.com with the season and episode and the correction. Corrections from chefs, family, and verified sources are prioritized.
